You’re human – that’s awesome!

Congratulations! You are human - that’s awesome, and I’d like to tell you a little secret… you have the ability to achieve anything you set your mind to.

My name’s Camilla Jansson, I live in Sweden and over the last eight years I’ve been on a mission to help people create the healthy lifestyle they crave.

In the beginning I worked as a personal trainer and nutritionist, but it didn’t take me long to realise that people we’re well aware of the importance of healthy eating and exercise. What they really needed were the mental tools to unlock their full potential, so I set up M.I.L.L.A. mind - Mind - Inspiration - Life - Love – Attitude, to help guide them on their way.

The biggest mistake people make when they introduce a lifestyle change is they set unrealistic goals - they want to be able to run a marathon in six months or drop a dress size in time for a wedding in a few weeks. The mindset is all wrong – the focus is on the end goal not the journey. The effort, not the enjoyment.

You have to look at the bigger picture - it’s all about doing things that improve your health over time, and it’s about building these things into your daily life in a natural way. It’s not about living ‘perfect’ – you’re not supposed to slot into a one size fits all healthy lifestyle, a healthy lifestyle should fit around you!

In my world you should never have to say, ‘oh I have to train, it is so boring, it’s so hard’.
No, in my world you’ll enjoy exercising so much that you won’t be able to wait until your next session.  And the food! Oh my lord! The food. Did you know that proper healthy food is so much tastier than fast food, boring snacks and sweets?

All that being said, a lifestyle change can often be daunting. So, if you’re feeling like you can’t quite get the hang of it, here’s three top tips from me to help get you started:

  1. Think about what you really want to do that you don't already do today. Run? Dance? Climb? Jump? Play some sport? Use the body more freely? Set a goal that develops you. Your fitness will improve as a result, but the important thing is you’re doing something you really want to do.
  1. Don't think about the food you can't eat, think about all the delicious food that you can eat – healthy living is not about restriction! Be curious in the kitchen, play with colour, spices and textures. That way eating healthy wont feel like a chore it will feel like a satisfying experience.
  1. Don't take it too seriously – have fun with it, then it will come naturally. Remember, you don't have to be a rocket scientist to live a healthy life. Enjoy!
