Hiking for the Mind 


It’s easy to look at hiking as a chore and wonder why on earth people would choose to spend the day panting for air. But truth be told, there’s no better feeling than getting to the top of a mountain, or even a hill for that matter – the sense of accomplishment makes you instantly forget about your burning calves. With your feet amongst the clouds, you get a sense of stillness, of calm.

This feeling inspired us to set up our own hiking company Outdoor Adventures UK – where we take groups of avid adventurers on beautiful hikes around the country. The aim is to get some fresh air, unwind and improve your mental wellbeing. A simple walk outside or a regular hike can have a positive impact on our mental health, allowing us to switch off from our stressful lives and be one with nature.

Mental health is something that so many of us struggle which has been worsened by the recent pandemic. Exercise and the mind go hand in hand, the endorphins released when getting outdoors have been proven to reduce stress and improve mental wellbeing, which is why we encourage people to hike with us. We recently widened our offering to include gorge walking, hotel stays and wild camping. Outdoor Adventures was created with everyone in mind so whether you’re a beginner or an experienced hiker we can cater for you.

We pride ourselves in bringing people together and building friendships... just at a great height. Whether you are hiking for your heart or hiking for the mind, you’ll never regret the views at the top. The blisters will heal, but the memories and friendships will last a lifetime.
